lately...update

Had a wonderful time at Carabbas last night. Never did get around to celebrating getting the hell back into my own apartment for real and it has only been since last August, hello?!

We had pasta overbrimming with fettucine sauce and rotini stuffed with their signature cheese along with a small bowl of broccoli soup each. Then we went to Britton Plaza and took in a Bollywood film. The Britton Plaza theaters are great now they are all redone in HD and you get to see these films, if you're into Indian films you are in for a real treat here.

We had one of our VX-16 tube amps stolen out of our apartment last night. They broke in from what I can gather around 3am last night, and they ONLY took this one item -- leaving iPods and a Droid phone and **$50 in CASH** that was bound up in a money clip sitting in Enrigo's drawer! Which is why I keep telling these dinguses not to leave shiat like this lying around unlocked. Strange that they didn't seem to be interested in anything else ... undeniably it was having to do with the CL ad I posted on it a week ago. I followed all the safety rules and put NO address or email and anyone browsing would've had only the 'blind' link back to Craigslist ... so we cannot figure it out.

UPDATE the TPD recovered our amp! Which got out to its happy new owner in Delaware... to the tune (pun intended) of $11,000.00. Many thanks for all who put up with my late nights diligently restoring this 1950s beauty. The work comes home to roost after the sale on CL, making sure I had CASH IN HAND, and now I am ready for my next purchase - a like-new 1968 Mercedes! Also through CL. NEEDS lots of work and TLC but the engine is rock steady and runs with very little maintenance. I was wise enough to take along Ricky who knows his cars like the palm of his hand, especially Euro imports, and he can vouch for the condition of the ENGINE although the rest of the car needs plenty of work....mostly the interior, cosmetic stuff (the carpet needs a GOOD steam cleaning) I go out to S'sota to take a look at it tomorrow.

And.. many LONG overdue thanks to all who helped me get in off the streets (welp I was living in hotels but that's basically the same thing minus the park benches et al) .. and into University. Where I am currently sharing with three other guys, as you gathered, one of them is Enrigo; the four of us work round the clock and the arrangement couldn't be better. Shared living room, EIK and common garden area but we each have private bedroom / bath. No squabbles... because quite frankly we work such long impossible hours we rarely see each other ... except on Sundays when three of us go to Mass together. #4 is agnostic and strangely the ONLY student at U. (Typical for these off campus aprts, which are snapped up as soon as they can get in, by staff and workers looking to save on rent.)

This is a new, lean and mean, post 911 Chris -- no more gadgets; well except my Droid. I sold my iPad after the ninth software bug on it. The Droid runs Linux and RULES!! I can do so many things with it on the cheap and FREE mostly the latter. I can rlogin to my Linux workstation and do command line stuff -- on the PHONE! Try that with Apple. pflflflfpt.
